New Extended Hours arrangements

Nettleham Medical Practice is pleased to announce that from 1st September 2018 patients will be able to book routine appointments on Saturday and Sunday mornings and weekday evenings until 8pm.

The revised service is part of an extended access service which has been commissioned by NHS Lincolnshire West Clinical Commissioning Group.

The appointments will also be available on bank holidays and across the Easter, Christmas and New Year periods.

Extended hours appointments are for pre-bookable non-urgent appointments. Examples of these include chronic illness and medicines reviews.

The service is being delivered by a federation of GP practices in the area. If a patient wishes to attend an extended hours appointment, they may need to travel to another local GP practice and may not necessarily see their own GP.

In our locality, appointments are available between 6.30pm and 8pm Monday to Friday and on Saturday and Sunday mornings. There are also a number of additional appointments being made available during core hours (8.00am to 6.30pm Monday – Friday)

To arrange an appointment or for more information on when and where appointments are available, speak to the practice receptionist.

New Dispensary Opening Times at Nettleham

From 1st October 2018 the dispensary at Nettleham will be open half an hour earlier each weekday, and each Thursday Evening until 8pm, but will no longer be open on Saturday mornings.

This is because of the new scheme to enable our patients to have extra opening hours for routine appointments every day of the year at various local surgeries, rather than just at Nettleham.

Nettleham Dispensary opening hours for collecting medication

Monday to Friday 8:00am to 6:30pm and until 8:00pm on Thursdays.

Don’t forget you can request medication 24 hours a day via phone (01522 754649) or online.

General Practice National Awards award

The practice would like to thank everyone who recently voted for the practice for this national award. Unfortunately the practice was not shortlisted to the final on this occasion. The organisers have shared with us some of the lovely comments that were made which can be found by clicking on the link below.

Patient Feedback

New Service from early January 2019

The practice is delighted to have been chosen to pilot a new service for social prescribing. The practice has been allocated a social prescribing navigator who will be based at the practice one day a week. They have links with >200 local communities and charities and can support patients who have social rather than medical needs. Patients can self refer to this service by contacting them on 01522 551683. Click on the links below for more information.

New Service available from Mid October

Flu Vaccination Clinics

It is not too late to have your flu vaccine.

Appointments can be booked by telephoning the practice after 10:00am each week day.

Active Signposting

In December 2017 we renamed our reception staff as Patient Care Advisors after they received active signposting and care navigation training.

This new process sees the Patient Care Advisors asking more questions of patients at the point of booking appointments to enable them to make the most appropriate appointment with the right member of clinical staff depending on the patient’s condition.

It is important for patients to understand that they are not being nosy and the information being asked for is very much in their best interests and to ensure they receive the most appropriate and efficient service possible.
